I really liked that one can break the large pieces into smaller ones, which it was exactly what I needed for a small corner which birds love. On that corner I attached the pieces with construction glue, and in another location I used large, strong cable ties. One can also use double sided tape or screws since there are multiple screw hole pre-drilled in each piece.
The spikes are very sharp. Hopefully that will discourage the birds to spend time or build nests in my porch.

First off, these things are sharp! You can seriously hurt yourself just taking them out of the box. We bought them to deal with a squirrel problem in our yard. The little critters were gnawing surprisingly large holes in our T-111 wood siding to sharpen their teeth.
I have no doubt that this will deter squirrels. Our issue was how to install it, as we needed to do it at ground level. I won't get into all the details since your situation is probably different, but suffice it to say that you should consider how you will attach these before making the purchase, as you may need to purchase additional items. Zip ties, construction adhesive, screws/nails, staking... there are plenty of ways to hook these to something, but not all may work for your particular installation scenario.

I bought these because my neighbors dog enters my yard in that area and attacks my dogs. I feel I've exhausted all ways in telling my neighbor how to fence their dogs as keep them in their own yard. I've called the police, animal control, etc. I've had over 800.00 in vet bills. I hope this is a solution.
